Introduction

Marble Beers began in 1997, when owner Vance Debechval and manager Mark Dade faced a choice: run a karaoke room or start independent brewing. They chose brewing to secure the future of The Marble Arch Inn. From the very start, the focus was on creating beers with character and quality.

In 2000, Mark left to set up Boggarts, and head brewer James Campbell joined Marble Beers. He immediately introduced a new focus on ingredients, hops, and flavors that appealed to beer lovers seeking something distinctive.

Growth and Philosophy

James emphasized using the highest quality ingredients and exploring hop-forward flavors. He wanted beers that were not only enjoyable but also sparks for conversation. Consequently, Marble Beers began creating brews that were both approachable and innovative, appealing to newcomers and seasoned ale enthusiasts alike.

As the brewery grew, so did its ambition. Transitioning to a 12-barrel plant, Marble Beers maintained consistent quality while increasing production. Each step of growth was carefully managed to preserve the integrity and personality of the beers.
