Art & Craft meet at Edinburgh Beer Factory

Edinburgh Beer Factory contacted us because they needed to expand their online presence after the growth of their business. The family run, independent brewery had grown to a team of over 20 people and now wanted to move forward with the ecommerce side of the business, as well as their social media presence. They wanted a highly functioning and easy to use website and e-commerce platform and knew the web development team at LemonTop were the people who could give them exactly what they wanted.

The brief was never going to be a straightforward one. Like Edinburgh, the city where it all started, Edinburgh Beer Factory is creative, inventive and outward-looking, combining old and new ideas and techniques to create beers of beauty. They wanted the design of the website to reflect their values, and also to create the look and feel of their new branding design. Relatively straightforward we thought, but then they asked us to help them with a number of new initiatives they wanted to incorporate into the website, such as subscription services, trade portal, integrated coupons…the list seemed to be endless. But nothing phases our web development team, and we always relish such a complex challenge.

Inspired by the Edinburgh-born ‘Father of Pop Art’ Eduardo Paolozzi, Edinburgh Beer Factory showcases the art of brewing. They take overlooked and underestimated beer styles and present them at their beautiful best. We like to think we’ve done the same with their new ecommerce website. Not only is the beautiful design inspired by the art of Eduardo Paolizzi, it has everything the brewery wanted from a website, and much more.

We ensured that it was fully responsive and was easy to use on multiple platforms including desktop, phone and tablet. We created a Content Management System that makes it easy for the brewery to manage, edit and maintain the website, ensuring seamless integration with their social media and online marketing strategies. It also links up with Brewman and other stock-keeping software, ensuring the smooth running of both the brewery and the ecommerce system.
