Brightwater Big Weekend
Discover Brightwater is a programme of events, projects and activities that over the next couple of years will restore, reveal and celebrate life around the River Skerne. They aim to get the whole community involved in the project, learning about the history of the area, as well as getting involved in the clean-up and regeneration of what is a beautiful part of our glorious countryside. To do this, they have organised The Brightwater Big Weekend, a series of free activities, events and fun for all ages. We were delighted to be able to create the advertising, marketing and social media for the Big Weekend, promoting it throughout the local community.
Bright, bold and colourful was the order of the day for all of the promotional material. We were confident that the colourful imagery and photography we used would portray the fun and excitement that would be abundant during the whole weekend. Using these alluring images to illustrate the huge range of activities meant we didn’t have to rely on swathes of editorial or big typographic listings. We opted to be bold and simple in our approach with an eye-catching and visually appealing range of material. This approach was carried out in everything from posters and signs through to advertising and social media.
We had to appeal to all ages and engage with families, encouraging them to explore and discover all the great things the Brightwater area has to offer. As always, we showed the adventures of Terry and Brenda, our illustrated mascot designs for Brightwater, getting involved along the way. A final, major consideration was displaying the many logos of all the generous companies, institutions and governing bodies that support and help fund the Brightwater project.
Brightwater were delighted with what we had created and were excited to have been presented with such an eye–catching and engaging range of promotional material, advertising and social media. From the beautiful imagery and photography, through to the engaging and inspiring social media posts, everything had been seamlessly brought together to create a fun and friendly campaign.
