We crafted the characters of Orm and Orla to bring the brewery’s story to life, drawing inspiration from Viking heritage to deepen the connection with the area’s rich history. Orm, a bold Viking figure, embodies the spirit of adventure and tradition, narrating tales of the beers’ origins and the region where the brewery thrives. To challenge the male-dominated landscape of the craft beer scene, we introduced Orla, a fierce female Viking warrior, symbolising inclusivity and showcasing that our beers are meant to be savoured by everyone, irrespective of gender.

The logo design was a pivotal step in establishing brand recognition. We opted for a traditional Viking font to honour historical aesthetics while ensuring it remained clear, readable, and instantly recognisable across various mediums such as print, marketing campaigns, and social media platforms. This balance between authenticity and modern clarity helped anchor the brand firmly in both historical context and contemporary relevance.

 

To further reinforce the brand identity, we created a vivid brand image featuring illustrations of local landmarks. This backdrop not only celebrates the area’s unique character but also provides a dynamic setting for Orm and Orla, positioning them as the central figures of the brand narrative. This cohesive imagery was consistently employed across the brand, lending a bold and striking visual identity that resonates with both locals and beer enthusiasts beyond the region.

Building on this strong foundation, we designed bottle labels that incorporated the same illustrated elements and featured vibrant, bold colours to distinguish between different beer styles. Complementary supporting materials, including beer mats, bar runners, and branded gazebos, completed the creative ensemble. This comprehensive approach culminated in a powerful, inspirational brand identity designed to capture the hearts and imaginations of craft beer aficionados and curious newcomers eager to experience something truly unique.
